Our company is looking to hire an Assistant Bookkeeper.  We have been in operation for 17 years and are expanding at a fast rate.  We are looking for someone for full time employment Monday through Friday from 8-5

           JOB SUMMARY

  • Assist in basic accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collection duties.
  • Assist in basic administrative duties
  • This position requires high attention to detail and good communication skills; verbal and written
  • Assist other departments as needed

Responsibilities 

 

Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using computers. Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Notes and report discrepancies found in records. *The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Job Qualifications

Education: Associates degree in business or accounting preferred.

Experience: 3 years; or equivalent of education and experience.

Ability to type 40+ WPM

Proven working experience in an accounting or financial related role

Proficient in QuickBooks Enterprise, Word, Outlook, Excel

Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software platforms essential

A positive disposition and strong moral work ehtic

Must be able to pass a background and drug test

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and business practices

Ability to grasp overall business issues as they relate to accounting requirements and to effectively react to and manage accounting situations.

Math and reasoning. Accuracy, Attention to detail, Critical thinking,Time management

Organizational Skills a Must

Ability to work effectively with other team members

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, changing environment

Ability to balance, prioritize and adapt quickly to work assignments and processes to meet deadlines

Ability to utilize discretion and maintain confidentiality

Willing to cross train and learn new processes for continued growth
